"curatorialText": "An athlete gathers his body before releasing the discus. The pose follows Myron's lost Greek bronze of around 450 BCE, known through Roman copies. This digital model records SMK's plaster cast after a Roman marble found at Hadrian's Villa. Its head is a modern restoration that faces differently from the original design. The cast entered SMK from the Academy of Art in 1909.",
